The next meeting of the Pinal Gem and Mineral Society will be on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at 6 PM.
Second Australia Night at the Museum
From 6 to 7 PM there will be light refreshments (snacks and dessert) with a taste of Australian wine. Everyone is welcome. At 7 PM we will have our speaker, Dehne McLaughlin. He is from Hobart, Tasmania and is a mineral collector and miner with a background in geology, biology and anthropology and he consults to Aboriginal groups in mining economics, indigenous resource negotiations and mine environmental management. Dehne and his wife Maureen have the claim on the Malbunka Copper Mine and have developed it as a mine for azurite sun specimens.
Azurite suns at Dehne’s room at the Hotel Tucson City Center are shown in the photo.
