PGMS January Meeting

The next meeting of the Pinal Gem and Mineral Society will be on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at 6 PM.

Second Australia Night at the Museum

From 6 to 7 PM there will be light refreshments (snacks and dessert) with a taste of Australian wine. Everyone is welcome. At 7 PM we will have our speaker, Dehne McLaughlin. He is from Hobart, Tasmania and is a mineral collector and miner with a background in geology, biology and anthropology and he consults to Aboriginal groups in mining economics, indigenous resource negotiations and mine environmental management. Dehne and his wife Maureen have the claim on the Malbunka Copper Mine and have developed it as a mine for azurite sun specimens.

2018 Anthem Gem & Mineral Show

The Daisy Mountain Rock and Mineral Club is proud to announce their highly anticipated 5th Annual Rock and Gem Show.  It will be held Saturday, March 24th 9 AM – 5 PM and Sunday, March 25th 10 AM – 4 PM at the Boulder Creek High School located at 40404 N. Gavilan Peak Pkwy in Anthem, Arizona 85086

It’s a fun day for the whole family.  The best part is the Children’s educational and game corner where students can purchase 12 labeled keepsake samples and play inexpensive games to win special rock prizes.

Vendors will show their wares of Authentic Jewelry, Beads, Meteorites, Fossils, Lapidary Equipment, Cabochons, Faceted and Polished Gems, Rock and Mineral Specimens, Rock Art, Wire Wrapped and Beaded Jewelry, Lab Generated Gems and much more.

An amazing “Glow in the Dark” display of Fluorescent Rocks will be featured.  Don’t miss it!

There will be hourly drawings for door prizes and a Silent Auction with collector quality gems and specimens.  Admission is $3 for Adults; $2 for Students and Seniors; Children under 12 are free.

Proceeds help fund a scholarship to a graduating student from Boulder Creek High School who will be pursuing studies in science.

The Apache Junction Rock, Gem & Jewelry Show is being held at Skyline High School in Mesa Arizona, November 18th & 19th 2017. Fun for all ages! Bring the kids and browse original jewelry, gemstones, and beads, as well as rare and unusual crystals, minerals, and fossils. See the wonders of the Earth and take home a beautiful amazing piece of nature.

Almost every country in the world has been able to unearth unique specimens specific to their locale, and Arizona is a treasure trove of minerals found nowhere else in the world.  So come and see what our state has to offer!

Vendors from across the region will be offering unique and interesting mineral specimens, crystals, gemstones, jewelry, beads, fossils, findings and cutting material at competitive prices. Many of our artisans have created original jewelry designs, and our gem and mineral vendors will have specimens on display in both the rough and the cut-and-polished states. 

Raffles and silent auctions will be held hourly throughout the show by the Apache Junction Gem and Mineral Club for a chance to win one of many beautiful prizes.  Proceeds from the show are used to provide scholarship monies to local students.

Skyline High School can be reached from the Route 60 Freeway-Exit 192.  The cross-streets are Crismon and Southern.  FOOD SERVICE BY SKYLINE HIGH SCHOOL BAND.
